Abstract
Szentágothai János, eredeti nevén Schimert János (Pestújhely, 1912. október 31. – Budapest, 1994. szeptember 8.) Kossuth-díjas magyar anatómus, egyetemi tanár, professor emeritus, országgyűlési képviselő, a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia tagja (levelező 1948. július 2, rendes 1967. május 5.), alelnöke (1973. május 11. - 1976. augusztus), ideiglenes elnöke (1976. augusztus - 1977. május), elnöke (1977. május - 1985. május), a VIII. Osztály titkára (1967. június 13. - 1970. február 4.), elnöke (1970. február 4. - 1973. május 22.).
