Abstract
Barta János (Szentes, 1901. augusztus 09., - Debrecen, 1988. április 18.) irodalomtörténész, rektor, a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia tagja (levelező 1967. május 5., rendes 1982. május 7.). Elsősorban a 19. századi magyar irodalommal, ezen belül Katona József, Berzsenyi Dániel, Arany János, Vörösmarty Mihály, Madách Imre és Kemény Zsigmond munkásságával, valamint esztétikai kérdésekkel foglalkozott.
