Abstract

Pavel Romanovics Popovics (1930–2009), ukrán származású szovjet űrhajós. Az 1962. augusztus 12-én indított Vosztok–4 pilótája volt, és a szovjet Vosztok-program negyedik emberes repüléseként teljesítette feladatát: 5 kilométerre megközelítette a Vosztok–3 űrhajót, amelynek fedélzetén Andrijan Nyikolajev űrhajós utazott. A Vosztok–3 és a Vosztok–4 végezte az első csoportos űrrepülést. Később a Szojuz–14 repülése során parancsnoki feladatot látott el (1974). Társával, Jurij Petrovics Artyuhin fedélzeti mérnökkel üzembe helyezték a már fent keringő Szaljut–3 űrállomást. | Pavel Romanovich Popovich (1930-2009), Soviet astronaut of Ukrainian origin. He was the pilot of Vostok-4, launched on 12 August 1962, and was the fourth manned flight of the Soviet Vostok programme, which approached the Vostok-3 spacecraft, carrying astronaut Andrian Nikolayev, at a distance of 5 kilometres. Vostok-3 and Vostok-4 made the first group space flight. Later, he was commander on board of Soyuz-14 (1974). Together with his colleague Yuri Petrovich Artyukhin, flight engineer, he commissioned the Salyut-3 space station, which was already in orbit above.
