Abstract

A Voszhod–2 űrhajót 1965. március 18-án indították egy napnál valamivel tovább tartó Föld körüli útjára, fedélzetén Pavel Ivanovics Beljajev (1925–1970) parancsnokkal és Alekszej Arhipovics Leonov (1934–2019) mérnökkel. Az út során Leonov hajtotta végre az első űrsétát a zsilipkamrával felszerelt Voszhod–2 űrhajóból az űrbe kilépve. Leonov második űrrepülése szintén történelmi alkalom volt, az első szovjet–amerikai űrprogram, a Szojuz–Apollo-program szovjet űrhajójának parancsnoka volt 1975-ben. | On 18 March 1965, the Voskhod-2 spacecraft was launched on a slightly longer than one-day orbital trip around the Earth with Commander Pavel Ivanovich Belyayev (1925-1970) and Engineer Alexei Arkhipovich Leonov (1934-2019) on board. During the voyage, Leonov performed the first spacewalk (EVA, extravehicular activity), leaving the Voskhod-2 spacecraft through an airlock chamber into space. Leonov's second spaceflight was also a historic occasion, as commander of the first Soviet spacecraft of the first Soviet-American space programme, the Soyuz-Apollo programme, in 1975.
